Boy Scout Troop 741 provides us with a hearty pancake breakfast and we head out for our final day of riding. As we leave town, we are greeted by the thundering sound of the propane heaters inflating hot air balloons at the airport. One by one, they lift off into the hazy sky.

Our route takes us through West Bend's Farmer's Market (talk about a captive audience). I am sure the town's people can't figure out why all these people with bikes are walking through the market, but many buy fresh fruits, bakery and drinks for our morning snack. Robin rides in to the Flying S Ranch outside of Port Washington. We have finished another ride. We rode into 15mph headwinds again today and have perfected our "drafting". Joan with her fairing leads the way with Ted behind her and Robin bringing up the rear. The wedgie riders grumble as we pass as they cannot draft off us. Recumbent bikes prove their worth again!

Robin with her last drink of Gatorade!!!! The parking lot.
The final time that the bags are unloaded from the vans. The Saukville Lions club had brats and hamburgers for the hungry riders as we came in. This is a time to say goodbye to newly made friends, say thanks to the organizers, and other supporters. Bike Wisconsin did another great job of organizing the ride, marking the trails and sagging (they can always use more sag drivers if any of you non-bikers are interested in joining the ride, but don't think you can ride it). Wheel & Sprokett for their awsome bike repairs. The Bike Detailer (whose motto is "We Shine to Blind") who cleaned the Sparta-Elroy limestone dust off our bikes. And all the community groups who provided food and shelter to us. We really appreciated all you did and your concern for all of us during the horrendous heat.

Where do you want to go next?
